Are You Invited to the Interactive Party on YouTube?
Have you joined the party yet? Do you know what the party is? Have you ever played an interactive video game/movie/quiz on YouTube like these. Well, today I discovered a similar set of videos with a unique twist…
Perrier (a brand of bottled mineral water) have just launched a new YouTube campaign that uses the Groupon concept of “if a certain number of people sign up for an offer, the offer becomes available”…except they’ve tweaked it slightly to turn group buying into group viewing.
Their new YouTube channel is stylishly branded and features a club scene video and a thermometer on the right-hand side. The more people that watch the video, the more scenes are subsequently unlocked and the “hotter” the video gets.
So far (10th June) the channel has had over 765,000 views. This has unlocked 3 out of the 6 levels. I really like this campaign. Instead of simply “liking” a page for an offer or a voucher, you can be part of a group of people working towards a greater achievement.
These sentiments are highlighted by one of The Next Web authors, Lauren, who describes how the campaign “is the first experience of its kind and calls on people to share the channel, not only to pass on something cool to their friends, but to actually get more out of the experience for themselves.”
To get a full appreciation of what I mean head over right now and Join The Party!

That is a very, very cool twist on an old idea. I wonder if will get viral enough to generate the views required for that final level to unlock!
