Company names: short and sweet

Your brand name can help you stand out against the competition. It reflects you as a company and represents your product or service and can contribute to customer loyalty. One thing that is noticeable about many of the widely known brands is that they’re simple and easily remembered. Take for example: Apple, Sony, McDonalds, eBay, BBC, Coca Cola…

A few things to bear in mind when thinking of your brand name:

  • Make it short and memorable
  • Engage your audience
  • Check if it has an available domain name
We were approached by Martin Phillips to design a logo for his new business which he was going to name Wye Sustainable Energy. Although this name does indeed describe the location (based near the river Wye), and what the company does, we suggested spending a little time thinking further about the name before we embarked on designing the logo.

This resulted in some brainstorming and a result that we’re really pleased with. A clever play on words that is inspiring and memorable and made our job of designing his logo an absolute joy.
